What kosher supervision are you under?
We are certified kosher by the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington (VAAD). Our bakery is entirely Pareve and is both Pas Yisroel and Yoshon. Our cafe and dinner feature Pareve and dairy items, some of which are Chalav Stam, and some are Chalav Yisroel. Please ask us to clarify if you have special dietary needs.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, we sell gift certificates which are available in any amount and NEVER expire. Our gift certificates can be purchased at the Pastry Oven at any time. GCs are the perfect solution for end of the year gifts, Shabbat host family thank yous, special events, and more!
Are you open on Saturday nights?
In general, no, we are not. However, we are making efforts to open after Shabbat during the winter season. To stay up to date on this possibility, make sure to sign up for our email mailer HERE!
We do open on Saturday nights for private events; more information about this option can be discussed over phone or email.
Do you serve alcohol?
Yes, we have a beer and wine license and offer a wide array of mevushal wines, varied beers, and eclectic cocktails. We do not serve liquor, nor can we allow outside alcohol to be brought onto our premises, due to county laws.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes or no. For our cafe, we recommend reservations only for parties of 6 or more, and they are not necessary in general. For our evening service you do not NEED a reservation to join us for dinner, but we highly recommend them whenever possible due to our smaller dining room. Reservations allow us to order fresh fish, cut handmade pasta, and prepare for the correct amount of guests on any given day. In any event, we look forward to serving you!
Can I host a private event at the Pastry Oven?
Yes! We love to have private events, and have hosted many special parties here at KPO in the past. With various themes, food options, price points, and more, you're sure to have an event that is tailored to your every need! Please contact us for more information.
Do you make wedding cakes?
Yes, we do! We can bake and create just about any wedding cake you can imagine. Our wedding cakes are made with our mousse cakes and can be covered in mousse cream or fondant. All wedding cakes are non-dairy. Gluten free options are available. Pricing depends on level of intricacy in cake, number of people it would need to serve, and more. Please contact us before your big day for a free consultation!
